The Index was originally produced, quite independently, in 1997 by a Canadian member of the Tay Valley Family History Society (who also has some lists of interest to family history researchers available on this website) primarily for her own purposes of family history research in this area. It lists most names of persons and places and, although it can never be a complete index of all material in the book, nevertheless, it should be of great assistance to readers. Please bear in mind that the same person can be recorded in several different ways which are not immediately apparent, also, that an entry for a particular name on different pages might refer to more than one person of that same name.
