In summer 2006 the Webmaster was approached by a representative of
the window and glazing company C R Smith
Glaziers (Dunfermline) Limited with a view to a possible
order. After some discussion it soon became obvious that I was not
interested in ANY of the products the company C
R Smith Glaziers (Dunfermline) Limited would, or could,
provide. I was not pleased with the service provided by the salesman.
Ever since that call I have been pestered on an almost monthly basis by representatives
of C R Smith Glaziers (Dunfermline)
Limited and I have made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that
I was not, and never would be, interested in any products of C
R Smith Glaziers (Dunfermline) Limited. I further
instructed them to advise their head office (or wherever) that I
considered their ongoing action to be harassment and that they should
not contact me again. I further insisted that my details should be
removed from their computer and any other records held, as I believe I
am entitled to do under the provisions of the Data Protection
legislation. By their subsequent actions, this they have obviously
failed to do. I have now informed the chairman of C
R Smith Glaziers (Dunfermline) Limited, Gerald Eadie,
that I intend to investigate recourse to law in this matter. Since
writing directly to the chairman I have been assured that the company
will not contact me again, this remains the position as at the date
below.
Potential enquirers be so advised of this company's methods.
