Monikie, Scotland - from the air.

The village and area of Monikie (pronounced "MON-EE-KEE") in a lovely rural setting about 11 miles north-east of Dundee, Scotland. It appears here in an aerial photograph viewed from above Affleck Castle, looking south-east. Click here for maps of the area and see if you can locate the various places mentioned. The first part is easy - the large blue stretches of water form the major part of Monikie Country Park and were formerly reservoirs for the City of Dundee. The "items" in the water are small fishing boats and not a local "monster" (although after a bad day's fishing one of the fishermen might turn nasty !). You might be able to spot the deer in the field, bottom right, or just about hear the peacocks screeching in the grounds of Affleck Castle at the bottom of the photograph.

Some browsers will allow you to see a larger version of the photograph below by right-clicking on the mouse and choosing the "zoom in" feature.

This photograph has 17 "hotspots" which, when clicked by your mouse, will show photographs of that area or lead to other pages.  More will be added in time, and currently there is no other way to access some of these photographs so take your time and try to find the 17+ items!
